We have a pomeranian with some anger issues. He loves to play with his stuffed toys by attacking them, shaking them like he’s a terrier with a rat, and then starting to hump them. I get that humping is a dominance behavior in dogs, but it still makes him look like a violent rapist. Anyway, when he’s mad at one of us (usually because we are leaving him behind when we go somewhere), he will get one of his toys, beat the shit out of it, and then start humping it. The implication is basically, “This is what I would do to you if I were a larger dog.”

He also loves to steal pairs of dirty panties and lick the crotch. What I’m saying is that if my dog were a person, he’d be a registered sex offender.

2. ಠ_ಠ

My cocker spaniel has one particular snore that sounds like a little demon child laughing. In the middle of the night, I hear a “he he he he he” at the foot of my bed and my eyes just fly open.

3. ಠ_ಠ

A few years back, I was laying in my bed trying to get to sleep. I heard the faintest little sneeze across the room and I instantly froze in terror. Carefully, I cocked my head up off my pillow and stared into the pitch black closet that sits across from me. I was positive that the sound had come from that corner of the room. There was an evil old dwarf hiding in my closet just waiting for me to fall asleep… And then I remembered my brother’s snake was up on my shelf by the closet in his cage. I felt dumb, it was just a cute lil snake sneeze.

4. ಠ_ಠ

I have a pet snake (ball python for those curious). The thing with him is that he always looks for the warmest place he can find, which is usually in your clothing. I usually don’t care if he wants to curl up in my shirt, but one time I had dozed off and found him wrapped around my dick 15 minutes later. It’s pretty fucking scary seeing your man meat in the same position as the mice you feed him.

5. ಠ_ಠ

I’m laying in bed reading with my dog at night. My bedroom door is open, and my room is the only room in the house with the lights on. It’s completely silent. I took a quick glance at my dog. My dog is staring out the door into pure darkness. I see him slowly tilting to his head to the side, which he only does when he sees or hears something that seems bizarre. He growls for a good minute. Then, he notices me staring at him and wags his tail.

6. ಠ_ಠ

A friend had a mastiff that he said went nuts in the middle of the night and actually tried to drag him off his bed by his pajamas when he wouldn’t get up. He said it took him 2 hours to calm the dog down and get back to sleep the next morning he found his truck window smashed in and a bunch of stuff stolen out of his truck. Listen to your dog .

7. ಠ_ಠ

I had this dog for 14 years, she was my baby when all my friends were having real babies. I was crushed when she died. Fast forward a couple years and I was living on my own and I had (and I still have them) 2 young cats. I keep a picture of that dog on my wall and the female of my cats would climb on my tv stand, touch that picture of the dog with her paw and look at me. She never did this with any other pictures, nor has she since with any other picture, just the one of my dog.

8. ಠ_ಠ

Stared at me until I woke up and let her out.

There’s nothing like that feeling that you are being watched as you’re coming to, then groggily opening your eyes and seeing your dog’s face, completely devoid of expression, watching you.

9. ಠ_ಠ

He stares at me like this all the time.

And also this.

10. ಠ_ಠ

My dog would stare at the wall and just bark. It would last for 10-15 minutes. It was so freaky, and I thought our house was haunted. Apparently, it’s a sign of a seizure.

11. ಠ_ಠ

My cat yawn raped me once.

I do it to him all the time because the face he pulls is hilarious but I didn’t realise he was smart enough to do it back! He was lying on my chest, just chilling, and I yawned a big, deep yawn. When my mouth closed, I found that he had put his paw in my mouth and was giving me a look that clearly said “See bitch, how do you like it?”

12. ಠ_ಠ

My bearded dragon does this thing where she bulges her eyes out. It’s normal for them to do it when they are shedding but it looks like she’s possessed by Satan every time she does it.

13. ಠ_ಠ

When I was younger we had a bull mastiff/ boxer mix. My sister and I were playing video games one afternoon and we looked out of the room to see max, our dog, standing in the hall just staring in at us. After a few seconds of awkward eye contact he started pissing. Everywhere. Once he had drained his entire bladder he turned around, and waddled away down the hall and down the stairs and fell asleep on the landing.

14. ಠ_ಠ

My cat woke me up by licking my nipple.

15. ಠ_ಠ

I had a pet sunfish. When it got dark in my apartment, she would sometimes catch a glimpse of her reflection in the glass, which got her pissed. She would flare out her gills and turn a brilliant red and green color.

I had just finished watching Insidious for the first time and was walking to the bathroom when I saw Sunny, bright red, flaring her gills, and looking possessed. Gave me chills.

16. ಠ_ಠ

I have a cat. So everything.

The unblinking stares, the alert eyes darting and riveted on an invisible object, the random bolting through the house with no provocation in the middle of the night.

17. ಠ_ಠ

Ok so there’s a room in our place that we don’t want our cat going in (the person that sleeps in it has allergies) and one time I accidentally left the door open and saw the cat go in. Someone else immediately closed the door, not knowing the cat was there. I was about to open it to get the cat out, only to turn around and see it right behind me. Apparently, my cat can teleport.

18. ಠ_ಠ

Waking up during a thunderstorm with my 100 lb dog 2 inches from my face because he was scared of the thunder.

He was like splinter cell slinking up into my bed and shit. I had no idea he was there.

Loud thunder rustled my sleep up a bit and the first of my senses to wake up was the feeling of breath hitting my face.

Opening my eyes to this beast basically snout to snout in near pitch black darkness scared the fuck out of me.

19. ಠ_ಠ

One of my cats gets protective of me. If I have a guest over and set up the guest bed for them, the cat spends the night in one of two places, either at the foot of my bed watching my bedroom door attentively to make sure my guest doesn’t try murdering me in the night, or sleeping on the table near the guest bed and staring at my guest the entire time. I’ve had numerous guests wake up to my large cat sitting there and just staring back at them like he’s judging them. Every time they rolled over and cracked their eyes in the night, the cat was just staring back at them. It spooks people because it’s like he never sleeps and just watches them the whole night. If they can make it through one night without killing me, the cat chills out and divides his time between cuddling with me and cuddling with my guest.

20. ಠ_ಠ

My in laws’ male cat mounts their female cat and humps her while maintaining strong eye contact with me. As if to say “you’re next.”

21. ಠ_ಠ

My pomeranian-chihuahua mix is an otherwise normal, sweet, cuddle bug. Aside from occasionally screaming at other dogs, leaves, towels, garbage cans, or strangers jogging the opposite direction half a mile away, he has this one little… thing. Every once in a while, without any consistency, he will quietly walk up under my chair and very, very gently, lick my ankle. Once and only once. Then he walks away. He has me convinced I have ankle cancer.

Preface to this story: my parents always talk about how our house is haunted, particularly the guest room upstairs.

So one day my mom is out doing yard work with the front door open and completely oblivious to the location of our dog (she would never run away from my mom though or essentially ever leave our yard). My mom realizes that our dog is no where to be seen and starts calling her name. She doesn’t think much of it and assumes she’s just asleep somewhere.

Later that day, my mom still hasn’t seen the dog and begins to search for her. She looks at all of her favorite places to lay down, common hiding spots, all over the front and back yards… no where. She starts freaking out at this point (she really loves our dog) and gets one of our neighbors over to help look for her. They start checking ridiculous places around the house, such as under beds and behind couches… places my dog has never been before. She actually calls the sheriff over (they’re friends) to report her as dog-napped.

As my mom’s talking to the sheriff, the neighbor starts going wandering through the house aimlessly searching everywhere and anywhere. She starts opening all of the closets, which is ridiculous because they’re always closed in our house and only opened when we’re using them. So she finally walks into our guest room, checks under the bed one more time, and then sheepishly peeks into the closet. Lo and behold, there is my dog, sitting in a completely dark closet with the door closed.

23. ಠ_ಠ

My shiba woke me up by licking my eyelid and trying to stick her tongue up my nose once.

Nowadays, she occasionally gives wet willies.

I have four dogs, so four times the creepiness.

1st dog– He has skin infections that he scratches and chews on. He also makes creepy demonic sounds while doing this. Pretty creepy to hear in the middle of the night.

2nd dog– She is a big border collie mix who loves sitting at the top of the stairs when it’s dark. So you go to the staircase and see these creepy eyes on a big shadow looking thing. Pretty creepy.

3rd dog– She is a small papillon. As we all know small dogs bark a lot. So she’ll just look into an empty room and start barking like she does when someone’s there.

4th dog– He is 3rd dogs brother. This little guy isn’t as creepy as the other ones. But he’s like dog 2 and 3 combined. He loves to stare at people creepily and bark when nothing’s there.

I used to have a Siamese cat named Lily in our small house and one night in the living room I see her jump off the couch and plain as day walk upstairs. Now our upstairs are one-shot walkway, you either go up to the bedrooms/bathroom or you are downstairs. There are plain walls on both sides, there is no where else to go, you will always be seen. Plus it’s only 7 steps.

I decide try and scare her so I slowly creep to the stairs (my eyes never left her since she got off the couch, and it’s only 4 steps from the couch to the stairs) and I don’t see her. I go all the way up and all the doors are closed and Lily is nowhere to be found. I would have seen her if she passed me the moment I got up, and I am very sure I don’t hallucinate, and I begin to freak out wondering where my baby went and hurry downstairs when I see her sitting on the couch, looking at me like I was crazy.

I guess she scared ME that night.

Not the greatest story, but here I go. I was watching one of those ghost story shows on tv when my dog decides to wander into the room. He usually never gives me attention (unless he needs to go outside) but today he comes up to me. I pick him up and as we were just sitting there he starts intensely staring into an empty corner of the room. No nudging or shifting changed his gaze. This went on for quite a bit until I decided to leave the room.

27. ಠ_ಠ

When I was about 10 my dog, which was an Akita to give you a good visualization, came into my room while I was sleeping and just stared into my eyes. I woke up and I was afraid to move. I mean he was about an inch away just staring at me. This went on for a good 60 seconds. Then he just turned around and walked out and went back to my parents room and went to sleep. He never did it again and it still creeps me out to this day.
