This Is What You Lost When You Said Goodbye

This is what you lost when you said goodbye.

You lost a lover. The kind that would want to hold you when you were in pain. And more importantly, the kind that would want to hold you when you made a terrible mistake. You lost the type of lover that is gentle, but passionate. You lost the type of lover that is playful, but always in tune with you. She would’ve been loving, and would’ve listened when you didn’t know what to say. She would’ve held onto you when you got scared. She would’ve protected you from all the hurt.

When you said goodbye, you lost a partner. The kind of partner that would stand by your side even when you showed your darkest side to them. You lost the partner that would’ve given you her whole world. She would’ve never let you down, you know. She would’ve never turned her head away from your gaze. Because when you said goodbye, you lost the partner who would always stay loyal. The kind of partner who would never let you go. For anything. Or anyone.

When you said goodbye, you most importantly lost a best friend. You lost the girl who you could always lean on. You lost the best friend who could give you a kiss and words of encouragement at the same time. You lost the girl who could pillow fight with you in bed, and make you tea when you became run down with a cold. You lost the girl who believed in you always, and would never give up on your dreams. Because your dreams were always hers too.

When you said goodbye, you lost a dreamer. The one who would tell you to never give up on your goals. The one who would make you get up everyday and do what you did best. The one who would dream for you when you became too tired to do it alone. You would rest your head on her chest, to help you sleep at night. You lost the one who would stay with you through the blood, sweat and tears that poured out of you. The one who would never leave you.

You lost her. The lover, the partner, the best friend and the dreamer. You could’ve had it all you know. She wanted you to. She would’ve stayed. She loved you so. Thought Catalog Logo Mark
